Welcome!

Coupons for Causes LA is an organization that uses coupons to buy items to donate to Upward Bound House, a local charity. Upward Bound House assists homeless families with minor children by providing housing and support services along with food and personal supplies. Using coupons and sales we are able to save over 90% off retail on a variety of products, which means UBH gets more products to help families in need. The more coupons we have the more deals we can get, so please consider donating your Sunday paper coupons. Or you can shop along with us, as we show you where to find the best freebies and deals around town! Start your own donation bag, and see how quickly it fills up:)

$3.50 at Rite Aid plus huge rewards!

Starting this week Rite Aid has made a big change to their coupon policy.  Before shoppers were able to earn rewards for a purchase and then immediately use those rewards on another item in the next transaction. Now, shoppers have to wait to use their rewards until the following day.  So what I purchased was all done in 2 single transactions on 2 cards.  If you remember I had a ton of rewards from the great deals last week (especially the money maker on Crest mouthwash!).  Here is what I bought today:

The ReNu contact lens solution was $8.99.  I used a $2 coupon and paid $6.99, and earned $7 in rewards.

The Prell were on sale for $2.99, and I used $1 off coupons.  They came to $1.99 and I got $2 in rewards for each one.

The Similasan eye drops were on a huge discount -normally $10.49 they were on sale for $3.99.  I did not have a coupon but they each generated a $3 reward.

The Argan Oil product was on sale for $4.99.  I did not have a coupon but I got $3 back in rewards.

The Revlon beauty tools were buy one get one half price.  I got the clippers for $2.19, and the file was half price, so $.99.  I spent $3.18 and got back $3 in rewards (they were sold out of some of the cheaper tools that would have made this promotion even better!  The cheapest files are only $1.25)

The Carefree was also buy one get one half price.  They cost $1.59, so the second was $.79.  I used 2 $.50 coupons, so I spent $1.38 and got back $2 in rewards.

The Poligrip - what can I say?  I used 4 coupons for a free tube of the stuff, and for every 2 I bought I got $2 in rewards.  I couldn't pass up $4 in rewards!

All together I spent $25 in rewards from my last trip, and paid $3.50 out of pocket before tax!

So how many rewards did I walk away with?  $29!  I have been couponing for a long time, but even to me that is crazy:)
